The Dinner of the Decade!
As you know, the Association is holding a Gala Dinner on 20th September at the Caleta Hotel to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of its formation. A lot has changed in insurance since we were formed in 1997, and it seemed appropriate to mark the progress the industry has made in Gibraltar with a very special social event, indeed the first full purely social event the Association has organised!
Dress code will be black tie for the gents, simply elegant for the ladies (but wear your dancing shoes). The format of the evening will be:
7.30pm Welcome drinks
Introduction and Welcome by Chairman GIA
Response from Chief Minister
10.40pm approx. Music and dancing with Empire State Band
Music beforehand and during dinner will be provided by Louis Chipolina and his Jazz Friends.
Just a word on the entertainment (at least the musical part) – the Empire State Band is a prominent 10-piece soul and party band from the UK, who play a number of very well known tunes from Blues Brothers, Commitments, Motown etc.. It promises to be a fun night in true insurance industry style, and you can check out the band on their website.
Cost of tickets will be £75 per head, and seating will be arranged in tables of ten (or maximum 11 if we have an odd number!). You are invited to bring your husbands, wives or partners with you and/or your chosen guests. The Association will be making a donation out of the ticket price to the local charity Pathway Through Pain, which helps local children who have to go to the UK for medical treatment.
Please book your seats by sending your requirements to Jasmin Watson at Baker Tilly by 7 September, and let her know if you have any special dietary requirements.
This is an event not to be missed, as it should be a shining beacon of the industry’s ability to enjoy itself, and to recognise the history the insurance industry has already made for itself in Gibraltar!
